The Clanker Database originates from the abandoned robotics research facility in Sector 7. After the Great Automation Collapse of 2047, surviving engineers salvaged what remained of the AI systems and repurposed them for basic maintenance tasks.

Originally designed as household assistance units, the Clankers were retrofitted with rust-resistant coatings and basic problem-solving algorithms. Their name derives from the distinctive metallic sounds they make during operation - a combination of clanking gears and whirring servos.

Despite their crude appearance and limited functionality, Clankers represent humanity's last attempt at maintaining automated systems in a post-collapse world.

Clankers serve as the primary interface for accessing the salvaged robotics database. While their capabilities are limited, they provide essential access to maintenance protocols, system diagnostics, and operational data that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Their simple design makes them reliable in harsh environments where more sophisticated systems would fail. The Clanker interface prioritizes functionality over aesthetics, ensuring critical information remains accessible even under adverse conditions.

Despite their humorous and often frustrating limitations, Clankers represent the best available option for managing what remains of humanity's automated infrastructure.
